Marienplatz - Mary's Square
At the beginnings of Munich.
The Marienplatz is the central square at Munich, and it is considered the origin of the City founded in 1157/58; at the time; there were many commercial activities with various markets for salt, wine, fish, etc... Many festivities and political events took place there, not far from the new town hall. Here the traditional Christmas Market is held at the holiday season.
