Maximilianstrasse lined with luxury shops and elegant neoclassical buildings is the busiest shopping thoroughfare in Munich. The street owes its name to King Maximilien II of Bavaria who commissioned the construction with the architect Friedrich Bürklien in 1850.
The most prestigious clothing and accessory labels are to be found on the west side of Maximilianstrasse such as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Escada, Hugo Boss, Gucci, Gianfranco Ferré, Bulgari and many more.
